Our Review

The brainchild of greetings card millionaire Andrew Brownsword and Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines, the ABode hotel is a modern, boutique-style hotel, with an excellent location in the heart of Glasgow. The cosy guestrooms have been individually designed in a contemporary style. The hotel is especially well located for the King’s Theatre and the School of Art.

The ABode Hotel, Glasgow is part of the ABode group of hotels, owned by greetings card millionaire Andrew Brownsword and Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines. It is housed in a traditional building, which dates from 1911 and has a beautiful classical façade. The listed interior boasts an original modern design, lending the property a unique feel. The 60 spacious guestrooms are all individually designed in a contemporary style. No two rooms are the same but all are impressive with individual works of art on prominent display. All the rooms have a double bed (there are no twin bedded rooms.)
There are two restaurants in the hotel. The informal bar and grill, “BarMC”, situated in the basement, serves a good choice of meals as well as offering a buffet breakfast. In the formal fine dining restaurant, "Michael Caines," you can enjoy beautiful cuisine in elegant surroundings.
The hotel describes itself as embodying 'urban glamour'. It has an excellent location and is one of the most fashionable spots in town.

Nice breakfast (to 11am)...             Breakfast was very poor...             half cooked sausage and swimming in grease....             iked the fact that it is not one of the majorhotel chains which are the same where ever they go....             Expected more for the price....             Hotel itself is impressive...             Tapas in Cafe are straight out of a packet...             Hotel was very clean...
